Yep just realised that, but still looking at second hand.:)

Ffordes have one for £699 in E++ condition....you'll also get 6 months warranty.....sounds like a reasonable deal.

Yep looking at them but not much of a description with it,actuations & such like but maybe worth a look.:)

I don't think you can get the no. of actuations from the 5D at least I haven't figured out how to...

Anyway, I have one. The menu is a little dated compared to your 50D but I actually find it easier/faster to use as everything is in one long list rather than in 'tabs'. You won't get live view either but that is no biggie for me.

However, you buy one for the sensor and boy it delievers in this department. The photos look great from it, huge dynamic range. They are perfect for landscape, portrait, studio etc. I have used mine for sports (equestrian) and don't really use the burst mode as at 3FPS its either to early or to late so its better to time it.

Really depends on what glass you own too. The camera is pretty unforgiving with lenses so good glass is required.

I would let you have a play with it next Sunday at the Edinburgh meet but it's currently away trying to be repaired unfortunately... :(

Any questions shoot. :)

Sounds great Marty i think its probably the cheapest option for me to get into FF,whats wrong with yours then, hope you get it sorted.:)

Yeah, it is definetly the cheapest way to get into the world of FF.

Mine got a little wet, so its off to get repaired or replaced. Whatever is more economical I guess...

Thanks guys,sounds great.:)

Just bought one in the last month and used it for a wedding. Excellent camera to use and delivers wonderful shots. Took a while to clear all the dust off the sensor first though! Compared to my 500d the screen is a little dated, but it still shows enough detail to confirm focus in the right place etc. In fact, unlike my 500d the photos look subdued on the camera screen and excellent on the computer, so if the shot looks ok on the body it will look excellent on screen. Works as a good buffer. The low light high iso performance is good too, using centre point to focus, even a pitch black velvet tent couldn't stop it lockin on the first dance. I was shooting with a 24-70 L for reference.

Thanks for that Andrew,i ordered it & it should arrive tomorrow,i am really looking forward to using it now after all the input i have read about them.:)

You should really enjoy it James. I loved mine :)

Wishing you much fun with it when it arrives.

Thank you very much Alison.:)

Just watch those outside focus points, they can be a tad more reluctant to get a focus lock with than the centre point ;)

Thanks Paul,on my 50D i normally use the centre one so will probably stick to that for a while & see.:)

My canon 5D arrived this morning

Welcome to the world of classic full frame!

The main thing I like is having lenses actually behave like they were designed to!

Thank you Kris, been playing around with it this morning,a little different menus from my 50D but i will get there.:)
