As title, yes this is an odd thing to ask! Whats going to be the 'better camera' for my needs?
Now there 2 different beasts, ones semi pro, ones pro, ones full frame ones APS-H.
My usual photography:
Earning money wise, I do gig and band photography and weddings, I have found the 5D struggling to focus at gigs a number of times, weddings its spot on.
Other than that I do ALOT of general photography of the following:
Portrait & People, Wedding, Music, Events, Landscape, Nature, Scene & Street Photography, Travel Photography, Wild Life (birds/nature/animals)
So as you can see its abit of a mixed bag........... Id like to keep the 5D because its full frame& amazing image quality, but its focus and metering sucks abit compared to more modern stuff, the 1D attracts me due to there prices now, its autofocusing ability, more robust for travel photography, newer tech, however its smaller frame and 10MP could be an issue, (although 10 is plenty for what I usually want)
Im also aware the 1D is built for sports/when you must get that shot kind of thing, which would also be useful for me at gigs for example, however how would it perform as a wedding photography camera ? Of course im sure it would get great images but as good as the 5D? whats its dynamic range like ? does the smaller sensor really effect things badly ?
Of course there are other cameras, 5D Mk2 for example, its 'better ISO' performance is good, but the lack of improved auto focus bothers me, plus for same money a 1dMk3 can be had with the above things,
Of course a 1DSmk3 would be the answer to all my issues but its far to out of my price range, plus it only goes to ISO 3200 where as the 5dmk2 goes 25,000, my price range is upto £1400 or so (thats with selling my 5D if i did, so really 700 + sale of 5d)
HELP :bonk:

. AF is fantastic and it is 16 mp. Otherwise 5d mk2 would get my vote. Some say AF does perform slightly better due to more powerful digic4. With AF microadjustment it can't be that bad. Of course 1d3 would do a great job, but 1Ds and 5d sensors are better optimised for optimal IQ rather than sheer speed.
