New spec's emerge over at Canon Rumours, interesting to read about the new rumoured specs that sound rather good if they come to truth...

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV will have a 28mp full frame sensor, 12 fps, Dual Pixel autofocus system AF III, crop mode (or clipping) to 1.3x, to simulate the sensor size of the EOS 1D old series, or 1.6x , to simulate the size of Canon’s APS-C sensor, anti-technology flickr; sensitivity from 100 to 204.800iso, 409,600 in extended mode.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV c: 18MP full frame sensor, very useful for optimizing the performance at high ISO and burst. Dual Pixel III AF autofocus system with 61 points of focus, ISO sensitivity from 100 to 204,800, 4k video.

Hi Joe
;) If only, I really can't see them lowering the pixel count from the current camera and the highering the sensor to 28 mp and 12 frames a second is something else that I would be sceptical about. Cost and position of camera in Canon line up makes me wonder if it will be just a lot of small changes aimed at making a good camera great. I think the 5d range has been canons work horse camera. But hey they might surprise us all and make it more reasonably priced as well.
Regards
Richard

I'll be honest I don't really much see the point in discussing rumours, far more useful to discuss actually camera...for that reason I find this thread as little disappointing as I fully expected to find a link to an official announcement, could I suggest editing the title to reflect this is a rumour thread

It is a Photography Forum so many people I imagine do like to discuss them as I have seen on here in the past, and that's why I posted it up. I've also changed the title for you to make the thread more clear to viewers

Take it you didn't buy the 5Ds then pal? :D

Edit : you answered before I replied :p

No Joe. Not going to worry about it over the winter. Have been told that I can borrow a 5DS and have a go with it from a Canon pro dealer so its just finding the time to take him up on it.

Fair enough pal, When you do take him up on the offer it will be interesting to see how you get on with it as I mentioned before, been reading online the ISO isn't all to good along with the 50mp sensor I can imagine it being a challenging piece of kit to get the shots in certain situations but the quality of results is second to none. I'm not looking at bodies nor lenses now for at least a good few years I reckon, I would look at the 5DS but the question I ask myself is do I really need it and most of the time the answer is no specially when I look at what I've got in my bag already I have got pretty much most situations covered.

This is my dilemma Joe. The 50meg has its attractions but ISO worse than the 5D3 doesn't. That's why I'm waiting. If a 5D4 comes out before next April/May i would probably go for that. If not then another 5D3. But certainly worth borrowing one for a trial.

Missed having 2 bodies recently with the Kingfishers. Having the 100-400 on a 2nd body would have been nice.

Indeed it is mate, I've read to stick to the same ISO as the 7D II (Meaning 1600 Max) Which for a FF camera you would want better for wildlife but then again it isn't really built for birds if you look at it in that light, I think the 5DIV or going back to the 5D3 is the way for you. I can imagine your frustration not having two bodies, the thought of that let alone having only one body to hand would drive me insane.

I'm pretty sure the headline reads..

EOS 5D Mark IV & IVc Specs Surface, Most Likely Bogus [CR0] so not worth getting excited..!

Thank you for changing the title, I don't doubt that people enjoy talking about new cameras, hey even I do, but the initial title made me open the thread, if I'd know it was just a rumour frankly I probably wouldn't have bothered as I've said many times what I'd like to see as the mk4

Seems like a standard incremental upgrade which is all canon/Nikon ever do these days so not really sure what you're expecting!

Interesting you say that because the d750 was game changing, so was the 5d3... so was the 7dii and so is the d500.

D750 got probably the best 24mp sensor around plus d4s pro af in a cheap camera. 5d3 was a huge upgrade over the 5d2. 7dii af again is pretty amazing and the d500 is a mini apsc d5.

But yeah, maybe people want them to cook them dinner or something.

Those specs seem rather underwhelming if they do turn out to be accurate...
It's a rumour from an unknown source and the article explicitly warns you to take it with a pinch of salt. How likely do you think it is that the specs are accurate?

No idea what the likeliness is, probably not particularly high, I just said that if they do turn out to be accurate then the specs seem underwhelming for the reasons given by @twist

That would sound like a 1DX killer if priced similarly to 5D3. For that reason I think it totally won't happen.

My wishlist (as opposed to the wishlist above) is 36mp, 6-8fps, improved DR and as a result - a usable ISO > 3200 setting.

If we get truly lucky they might do a sensor shift high resolution mode but I don't expect things will get that rosy.
