canon 580ex2 will not auto oom on 20d

any ideas on this allwork but its shows14mm on the top right hand conor will not go in to auto flash zoom?

Push the built in diffuser in.
It's stuck out and needs to "click" back

Mine had me worried with this too

yup, Oldgit is correct.

I've fallen foul of that with my flash
