I have a nissin 622 mk2 - about half the price of Canon's offerings, has a fantastic set of features, including working off-camera.

I've got a Nissin Di866 and the wife has a Di622 and both of them are excellent. The Di622 has about the same specs as the Canon 430EX II IIRC and the Di866 is similar to the 580EX II (which I also have).
The wife used to use my old 550D and has recently gone up to a 650D and she uses the Di622 often with them. I can certainly highly recommend them.
