I recently inherited a great Canon 550D With a Meike Grip. Superb results. No problems. I recently bought a DSLR Rig parts and wondered if the grip would present issues being too high so I removed it and placed a single battery in the compartment. Nothing. Back to the grip? OK. Back to the battery. Nothing. So I bought a new door. After market. Simple bit of plastic. Tried that. Nothing. I am now worried that, should i buy a Lanparte pinch that the power coupling will not work and I am stuck with a camera that sits too high on a rig.

Anyone have any similar experience or solutions about this?

Thank you everyone.

Pete

I use a gripped 550D on a rig with no problems.

When you add the battery door, there is a little switch that must be depressed when the door is closed for it work. If when putting the door on, you don't catch this right, the camera wont come on.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Andrew, I will try that.

That is good news 'CSB' - I am guessing I will need to use a 'riser' clamp tp accommodate the higher end for the matte box?

Love forums, you guys are so helpful. Appreciated. Than you.
