I went out shopping today and spotted a nice building in Chester. I lined up the camera and noticed the lens was set at 50mm so I decided to give the "Nifty Fifty" a whirl....Half clicked for the focus got the all clear and fire!........Nothing? I have had this with flat batteries but they were new so after some investigation I tried the 24-105mm and all was fine. Refited the 50mm and realise the AF has stopped working. In MF the camera fired fine. Turning the focus ring it felt rough and gritty as if the lens was full of sand, Which it aint!
So at £50-£60 for a new lens, is it worth getting this one fixed or just buy a new one?
