Hi all, I would like to buy a canon 50d, body on its own, or with the 18-200 is lens.

I have been looking around the new, but not really found any good deals.

anyone know of any good deals going?

close half a xmas present from the mrs, im paying the other half :)
 
I have sent the above a question asking if i can pick up from a shop and if it is a uk version or import

£599 is the best price so far, but looks like they are eu version rather than a uk if that makes any difference
 
should be going to pick up a new uk version of the 50d with a 17-85 is lend this wendesday for £820

good price?

I found this bit interesting on the web site

he has emailed me his address, and said i can pay cash on collection, i asked if i can pay a £20 deposot by paypal (have not paid yet) to hold it for me, and the rest on collection.

he has sent me a paypal invoice.

he has told me they are new uk, and not refurb
 
Also be aware it states in the listing that all boxes are opened to check that all contents are there, that in itself raises alarm bells.
 
Take a memory card and see what the shot number is upto.
 
if it is open, how do you check the shots?

he said his stock is at Access and to meet him there (the self storage place)
 
That looks too cheap to be a new UK spec bundle, I'd check for damage where it may have fallen off the lorry ;)


Ps. I live about 5 miles from the depot & used to work just down the road from it :)

Just got home, and am now the new proud owner of a canon 50d.

A big thank you to mrgrubby for helping me today, and has got me thinking of some new lenes all ready!!

Hope you mean "the proud owner of a new Canon 50D" not "the new proud owner"
