Canon 50d worth it?

I'd imagine the 28-135mm lens is pretty good, but the rest is just cheap and nasty crap, just to make you feel as though you re getting a good deal!!

See how much the body and lens would be to buy separately, then work it out from there.
If there's not much difference in the prices, you may as well have all the 'goodies' that go with the bundle........

I would say no! This is made for *** who dont understand in lenses

What do you want the camera for? What are your plans? Is it for hobby? for fun? for work?

Tell us a bit about why you're looking for a DSLR - and we can help advise on what's a decent bit of kit.

Are you working to a particular budget?

The last one u linked to - is an American model - you do understand that a lot of the kit there isnt worth much - and you'll have to pay import duty and VAT on arrival?

cheers for that - i'm wanting to get more into weddings and portraits, i was looking at this as it would be my first dslr and thought it was good everything was there

Ok - that clears things a bit.. If you want to go into weddings professionally have you considered all the implications? particularly that you'll need 2 of most things? especially camera bodies? The 50 would be an acceptable camera for weddings - I've used one myself - however I'm now moving to a 5dmk2 as I think it has better low light capability. You know that most churches are pretty dark - and that you won't be able to use flash in the majority of the cases? So based on that you'll need a decent couple of lenses - in the case of the 50 being a cropped sensor - maybe the 35mm canon 1.4 prime EF and the 17mm-55mm f2.8 for general use will probably get you started well. You might know all of the above already - so I apologise if I'm telling you things you already know!! The lenses in the kit pack you've selected are ok - but not really great for weddings, as they don't let enough light in to expose an image well.

Of that list - certainly a proportion of it really isn't that great at all. You really need a decent powered flash such as the Metz 58 or Canon 580EX2 for weddings.

In terms of portraiture - do you already have lighting? Or will you be using flashguns off camera?

Have you also researched public liability insurance and kit insurance (and possibly indemnity insurance as well?)

TBH both links are for overpriced cameras padded out with junk to make it look like you are getting a good deal  Personally I would find the best deal on the camera and forget about all the fluff :)

Totally agreed... That's a great term - I'll remember that - forget about all the fluff
