Yes
Really needing a shutter release, £45 I dont have at the moment, are the 3rd party ones and good or is it worth saving for the Canon?

Thanks

Get a YN-602 pair from FITP, it also works as a remote release with the right cable. Of course it's also an excellent flash trigger with 2.4ghz tech.

I just bought a Yongnuo MC-36 (yeah I hadn't heard of them either) and got to play with it last night, have to say it did well.

It has a LCD display and allows you to set the amount of exposures, length of exposure, interval between exposures etc, it even has a backlight which is handy when your out in the dark. Build quality seems pretty good, if anything I noticed that It would come out of the socket pretty easy but that didn't cause me any concerns.

I paid £38 from Amazon, which is a lot less than the Canon version.

I got a remote shutter from eBay, it was £2.96 and does the job fine. It's not a fancy one with screens etc, it's just a wired shutter button with lock, could not justify the ridiculous canon price when this does the same thing.

I also had one of these, bought it for my 20D about 4 yrs ago. Give up the ghost recently with my 50D but had worked fine up till then. Ordered a new one from eBay but it only lasted about a week. Have a Canon one now, bought off of here and it is much better.

Cheers steve, that was my worry of how long it would last on how reliable it is for the moment when I only et one chance to get the shot.

I think its a bit hit n miss mate. Like I say the first one lasted 4yrs  and the 2nd one about 4 days

To be honest if I get 4 years use out of something that's cost less than a pint does I will be a very happy man :)

:lol::lol: I felt exactly the same way, which is why I bought another one. But being out at night trying some long exposures with a shutter release which didnt work :shake: made me decide to go with the canon one.

Got it cheap on here anyway so that helped
