Hello,
My 1st post on here and am looking for help.
Last weekend i was an an enduro event and was photographing in the rain all day despite using a rain cover my camera still ended up getting damp so i dried it off when i came in and all week its been inside the house.

Today i went to use my camera and the camera wouldnt turn itself on and also the lens is misted up on the inside.
So i am looking for peoples views on what the issues could be and how to solve them or weather people reckon my camera has bitten the dust.

Thanks!

Sounds like its a bit damp still. There is a technique for getting old electronic devices working after they've been dropped in water; might work for you.
One of two, airing cupboard for a few hours.
Or my personal favourite, put it in a bowl of rice overnight, cover it with the rice; the rice should soak up any liquid; and the best part is: you have breakfast in the morning :D

Personally i wouldn't do the airing cupboard, i'd opt for the rice to start with and take it from there.

Oh they might seem ridiculous but apparently the rice one really works!
Of course your problem might not be water, but it certainly sounds like it is.

I assume you have taken the battries our out and dried and charged them first, it sounds like the camera hasn't dried out (as other have said) you need to let it fully dry out.

If the lens is misted you definitely have some moisture in the camera/lens (assuming the lens is attached to the camera).

The airing cupboard is your best bet (assuming it can stay there undisturbed for at least 24-48 hours).

You need to take the lens off - take out the memory card and leave the door open - and remove the battery leaving the battery door open.

Now leave in airing cupboard.

After 24-48 hours - I'd give it 48 hours - reconnect everything and try.

Good luck.
