My mum was going to get me one for Christmas, but the price has gone quite high.. Anyone know why?

Prices seem to be creeping up on some stuff at the moment.. there's 2 explanations for this really..
1) its around 30 days before the sales. So legally if the shop pumps up the price for 30 days, they can return it to the original price and CLAIM a huge discount..
2) people have been saying for a while, the falling pound means more expensive imports. So you'll likely see this more..
I'm sure there's NUMEROUS other things related to shops struggling and needing more money, but those seem to be the 2 things people mention most.

Grrrr, I'll have to get a Sigma then, I have a 380ex and a Sigma EF-500 DG ST Flashgun (that is being sent off for repair on Thursday) but I want one with more control.
