Canon 430 EZ

I have an old Canon 430ez flash, I know that it will not sync with the digital EOS range and IIRC can only be used in manual setting but can it be useful as a slave flash.

Similar question, with 450D coming down the chimney - just how well will my old 430EZ work with it? Can I just slot it on and go?

if any of you want to releive yourselves of these flash guns let me know i am needing another one for some strobing stuff.

i use one to good effect both on a 400D and 50D body. they are great but you can use any mode but TTL

I use mine as a basic bounce flash normal settings are f/2.8, ISO 100, sync (shutter speed) 1/250s. I use Av mode and manual flash power at 1/2

the flash is great as long as you are confident with manually changing settings.
