Canon 40D

Not sure if this has been posted before but just a bit of info..i got a 40D yesterday and low and behold the battery grip from the 20D fits..Canon slipped up there didnt they

it does? ooooo excellent that might save me a few bob. I remember something in the spec about something or other fitting, but cant remember what.

How bizarre, Canon don't usually mess up like that.

sorry I thought you all knew..? It is mentioned in the spec on DP review and I bought my 40D and BG-E2 last week.

I'd have said something earlier had I known

mmmm, i guess the 10d grip wont fit the 40d then, not that i used it much on the 10d

ah yeah! thats where I had seen something. Out of interest what are Canon saying is the grip for the 40D?

I think they are saying its the new BG-E2N out in October but I can't remember where I read it.

AS far as I can remember though, the difference is some weather sealing around the battery compartment and not a lot else.

By the way this camera looks to be a nice improvement on 20D..not had chance to shoot much yet though..weekend coming up woohoo

I thought they said that at the launch ???

The BG-E2 works on all 4 10/20/30/40D

The BG-E2N has a bit of tape "weather seal", and only works on all xxD cameras too.

The wifi grip is the only one with the AF button and only works on the 40D.
