Hi,

I've read that some 30d's had a problem where the shutter wouldn't always fire or the button wasn't always responsive. Is this still the case with the camera's? Or in the 40/50/60d has this been sorted?

Thanks

It's an issue that very occasionally a tiny bit of dirt/dust can get under the shutter button. Usually can be dislodged quite easily by turning the camera upside down and jiggling the button about or blasting it with a rocket blower.

It's certainly no more of an issue with a 30/40/50/60D than it is with your 400D.

Never had any problems like that on my 30D.

Had a few 40 models and a 50. Never experienced it.

Never had that on my 50d.

I had this problem with my old 40D. It was 5 months old and I had to fight with the canon rep to get him to exchange it as it was intermittent. He did eventually get me a new one but even this one after 2 1/2 years does it very occationally.

Thanks for your replies, I guess it's just important to make sure if I buy one second hand this isn't a problem!

I've had a 40D for about 3 years & it's not occurred on mine...(famous last words)
