Canon 40D repairs SW England

Just found this website. We are having problems with Canon 40D and Canon 580EX and 580EX II flash unit not working together. Bought Mk II flash thinking the problem was the other flash unit but same problem. 40D is out of warranty period and we need it back fairly quickly. Anyone recommend a repair service in SW England? - also anone else had same problem? Many thanks

Have you tried Ace Camera's on Green Street, Bath? Not sure if they can carry out the repair on site but im sure they will point you in the right direction. 01225 466975.

Either massively overexposing so whole picture bleached out or underexposing by 3-4 stops. Also shutter sometimes didn't release when flash was attached. Both flashes worked ok with the 20D though...

Unfortunately if you want a Canon Authorised Service Centre then the closest are in Stoke-on-Trent or Elstree in London. However, these are both geared towards professional photographers and will usually put anyone else to the back of the queue.

This is something I've taken up with Canon UK, with a view to starting to work towards becoming Canon Certified myself, however, I have so far been met with negative reactions from Canon.

Since you're out of warranty, you may want to try either Black on White here in Bristol or alternatively Cole Camera Repairs in Weston Super Mare.

They'd be your best bets.
