Canon 400d stuck flash

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help with a problem I have with my 400d. I have been using it with a speedlite 430 but was out the other day without the flash gun and when i tried to use the camera the built in flash would not open. I tried the button on the body but the flash is still not releasing. I phoned Canon and they told me to package it up and send it too them. I dont want to be without it and can still work with the speedlite but if anyone had any ideas on what may have gone wrong I would be grateful. Thanks

Hi,
I had this with mine, just gently help the flash up whilst pressing the flash button on the side. I think its a small misalignment problem!

Mine done exactly this issue as well about 2 weeks after getting it.

Called canon and then took it into jessops. They swapped it right out.

Jessops and canon both said this was a knowen issue. The other issue which mine showed was the flash popping up and firing in bright daylight when in Tv mode or M mode

After the body swap all was fine. Great camera and still have it to this day. Use it along side my 40D

Thanks for your feedback, the flash is now released but not working, will stick to the speedlite until I get over Christmas and then see how much it will cost to set right. Thanks again for your help.
