Canon 400D just died - HELP!

I have just been taking pics, came back in to download them and it won't turn on! The battery isn't dead, any ideas?

Try taking the battery out whilst the camera is switched on.

Switch off camera, fully recharge battery than put it back in.

If it doesn't work then, and the battery contacts are clean, a big hammer should help!
 
Take out battery and memory card. Wait 5 minutes then return battery (no card at this stage). Switch on and you should get the No CF card message. /switch off, return card and make sure the card hatch door is shut properly. Should be ok as long as the battery is charged.
 
Thanks for the tips, I'll give it a go later and see what happens. I can't believe it died on me!
 
My 450D did this a couple of times and battery out seemed to sort it. My 5DII stopped talking to lenses the other day for no reason and battery out sorted that too. Think of it as the "have you tried turning it off and back on again" treatment for Canons...
 
none of it worked, its just like the battery is dead, no poewr going to it at all :(
