Is it the screen thats broken (eg cracked) or the LCD doesn't work at all ?
I believe the screen can be replaced fairly easily as a DIY job, if the LCD doesn't work at all, a quick phone call to Canon @ Elstree will give you an idea of price, but I would have thought it would have been better to sell as is - fully working except for an LCD .
