could anyone tell me what lens would be a good replacement for the canon 24-70mm .? sadly can't afford this so need an alternative that is good quality..

You'd be better posting in the talk equipment section for more responses but if your after a cheaper alternative you could always try out the Canon 24-105 F4L IS or similar 24-70 f2.8 Sigma and Tamron models.
