Just wondering what the difference between the two are?
I am looking at upgrading to a Canon version of this lens eventually from the lovely sigma i have at the moment, and just wondered if the 24-70L is worth the extra cash over the older 28-70L?

Thanks bob :)

I picked up a used 28-70 a couple of years ago and have been really impressed by it - the images are lovely out of it even when shooting wide open. From time to time I get tempted to switch to the 24-70 but when I've tried one I've not seen any real difference between them and as I can live with 28mm at the wide end I've saved myself some money and stuck with the old lens.

had them both just sold the 28-70, to be honest I could tell no difference in the 2, the only reason i did sell the 28-70 is it is getting on a bit and when I sent it off to be cleaned they said spares are getting hard to fine for these now.
difference in price second hand is going to be around £200

Thanks for that Peter.
I'm still torn, after looking at the FM reviews.
Is it worth paying the extra for that 4mm and the fact its slightly sharper wide open or saving me some cash and getting the earlier model?
