Evening all

Got the above lens with D5. I've deliberately not used it as I never intended to keep it!

So here's the question. Keep it, sell it, or sell it an get a 200mm F2.8 prime?

:help:

Thanks!

5D and 24-105 are made for each other! keep it!

:agree:

hmm well not too fussed by wide angle and most my shots are wider than f4...

Sell it to me (cheaply) :p

Seriously though I have heard very good things about it, but if you aren't using it, then sell and maybe use it for something you would get more use out of, like the 200mm

only keep it if you are going to use it, otehrwise sell it to fund something else

Well basically I never budgeted to keep it! I always just use the primes, I find it easier and like the big apperatures :) You're right, the 28-90 is not very good at all.

ggggrrrrr, yes you're right.., just don't wanna sell it only to want one (or similar) back again in six months time!! Anyone used the 200mm F2.8?

you send it to me for 6months and I wil look after it, then if you miss it after 6 months you can have it back.

The 200L's a nice lens...not quite up to the standard of the 135L but very capable nontheless.

Personally the 24-105 doesn't excite me at all. It serves a very useful purpose in my work kit and there's little else that could do it's job for me but if I had a choice of which I'd prefer in my hobby bag, it'd be the 200 every time.

The 24-105 is a jack of all trades lens and there is little else as versatile but it also does nothing all that well either. As has been said, give it a little try and see it it wows you. :)

Have to agree with Canon Bob, the 135L is a stunner and images really do pop! The only two lenses I am actively using are the 24 -105L and the 135L.

It's the only short lens I have and I'm very happy with it. Most stuff I do is telephoto so I don't have anything super wide or super quality below 300mm. I really would miss the versatility though if I didn't have it to fall back on.

I use the 24-105mm f4 on a 5D for general photography (landscape/holidays etc) and I find it an extremely sharp lens, even wide open - the only time it comes off the body is when I use the 70-200 f4, another brilliant quality lens.
