Picked up a secondhand 24-105 from one of the forum members which I am really pleased with. Thinking I should put a UV filter on to protect the glass, tried a Tiffen one that I had on my 10-22mm and found that the filter glass touched the centre of the front element when I screwed it down fully.

Can anyone who has this lens recommend a filter that fits OK and dosn't touch the lens element, Hoya Pro Digital maybe?

Thanks

It's a great lens so don't spoil it by sticking cheap UV's on it go for the Hoya pro.

I have a B+W UV Filter and it works well. But adding a Hoya Pro 1 CPL on top will give a heavy vignetting (but small area) on the 4 corners of the photo. A thinner UV filter might give better results but you can always just put one filter on.

I sue a B+W on mine but have also used a Hoya Pro1 and no problems.
