Ok chaps (and chapesses), I'm not sure which forum to post this in, so I'll drop it here for now.

I've just changed my 350D for a 20D. This was purchased from my boss who, in the way of all bosses, has managed to lose the CD that came with the camera originally.

The only application I need from the CD is the one which will allow me to change the "Camera Owner" which appears in the EXIF data (it currently has his name).

I've searched in vain for it on the Canon website but can;t find it anywhere.

If anyone has the original disk and can upload the relevant application and post a link to it here, that would be grand.

The software you need is Eos Utility but you can only download updates from the Canon websites......you'll need to borrow an original disc first.

Even if someone uploaded the actual app from the disc to the net, you wouldn't be able to install it, the setup would ask for the disc, no matter what. You really need the physical disc. What about the disc you got with the 350D? If you still have that, you could use it, then upgrade the app via Canons website after installation.

If you PM me with your details I can send you a disc with the applications you require on it.

Cheers,

Paul.

If you still have the 350 discs, use these and then go to Canons web and upload the updates.

Thanks for the help guys. I finally figured out that it was down to there being no WIA driver for the 20D under Windows 7 (Ultimate x64).

The camera will connect when set to PTP mode, but to talk to EOS Utility it needs to be in "Normal" mode.

I fired up the Windows Virtual PC XP Mode, attached the 20D USB device within the virtual machine and installed the XP WIA driver.

Hey presto, I'm now the official owner of my own camera!
