...can't seem to find any information about this lens that's not just a 'rumour'?

Is it still 'pre-release'? I curious about price and a proper unbias hands on review. Not that I'll be buying one anyway.

I only ask because my lens envy kicked in when I had to queue with this directly infront of me for what seemed like ages.

He had 3 1DX's, and various other lovely new L-Glass, would have loved to ask him if he needed a hand using them as he can only use 1 at a time!

But I didn't and had to make do with my own camera :/

Anyway back on topic, anyone have any info?
 
Still pre-release and as you've discovered, in use at the Olympics. Knocking out some great pics by all accounts.
 
He has pool access at the Olympics (blue vest) so probably from one of the agencies.

We have been using the 200-400 for a while (we had serial number 1) and it is stunning.

Huh. Bet my camera phone can do just as well. Load of rubbish all this expensive stuff. Just people posing because they can afford it. All you need to do is put the camera on auto and it takes perfectly good pictures. That's why they have an auto setting, innit? Obvious. All those buttons are fake. Anyway, all those pictures you see are fake, done in photoshop. That's what photoshop does, fake pictures for so-called photographers. Not like when film was around. That was for real photographers, film was.
