1Dsmk2 best fully fledged camera I have ever owned, amazingly fast and 100% trustworthy AF, which is where I think you will prefer it over your 5D(assuming its a 5Dc)

The original 1ds is limited to iso1250 isn't it? And has a tiny LCD and slow operation. But IQ appears to be excellent and AF and build are superior to the 5D.

Sums it up. Build quality is second to none, built in portrait grip with second set of controls, very good IQ in the right conditions.
