CANON 1D MKIII SHUTTER COUNT

Hi am i correct in thinking the only way to tell the shutter count on a 1DMK3 is via a service?

Yes think so although happy to be told different!
Was nice when I could do my mk2 in Capture One, now it's up to 250,000 so every time I use it (not very often) I'm waiting for it to fail...

LOL,,,i know you can check the MKII on certain software but looking at one tomorrow at mifsuds and suspect it is a high useage camera and somone just PX'd it for a MK4 @1.3k i would just like to know

As far as I am aware you are correct that there is no way of telling other than a service.

it wont tell you in photoshop

yep just had a look at mine and i cant find shutter count anywhere in the exif.

I dont think this is a continuos count as it can reset or be reset.
However i stand to be corrected as i dont own a MKIII hence asking the question.
