Just upgraded from 1D Mkiii. (great service and competitive prices from Stuart at digital Depot).

Only had today (Thur) to run some test shots. So down to Hitchin town centre to shoot some ducks.

First up the Canon 24-105 lens, all OK, all shots in the total zoom range very good, focus on the button.

Now to the Canon 100-400 zoom, OMG, Not one shot (total of 80) in focus both single shot or A1 servo (both 3 frames/sec and 10 frames/sec).

Next step is to microadjust the focus on the 100-400. if this does not work the whole rig goes back to Canon for calibration.

I will keep you posted.

Pictures.... or it didn't happen :D

Or why don't you do one of those 30 second youtube clips of you opening the box and sniffing because you have a cold and then drip all your dribbly nose bits onto your new camera.

Here's one of me unboxing mine. As you can see from my youtube profile I am actually American. I just write North Yorkshire on here to be cool. Oh and I am also John Locke. Or maybe fake John Locke...who knows!!!

God! He's obviously not a knife murderer!

:D

2minutes 54 seconds!!! I'd have had the battery charged by then! :p

Is the "feature" of having to micro-adjust lenses common to all DSLRs, or is it a Canon exclusive just to make us feel special? :|

A.

Nikon does it too. They were the 1st with D300, then Canon followed. I don't know about the others.

That must be one of the most riveting videos I've seen in a long time... (You can tell I don't watch much TV!)
