Yes
I've been pondering changing from my 50D to either a 7D or a 1D Mk3. I use the C1 and C2 settings on the 50D to give fast access to different set ups, obviously the 7D has three of these. As far as I have been able to ascertain re the 1D Mk3, up to 10 user defined and user named set ups can be stored to card and changed via going into the menu. If this is the case can I keep a dedicated SD card in the camera purely for different camera set ups, so I can can quickly change mid shoot as needed? (I don't think I'll be shooting to dual cards) Or have I missed something obvious and there's a different (faster?) way of changing camera set ups.

What settings are you likey to change very often?

a few buttons presses and wheel turns with the 1d has everything you normally need to change without going into the menu.

Unless your looking to change Ai servo sensitivity, button allocations or other custom functions, you have iso/drive/wb/picture style/image recording (what and where to) etc all available at the touch of button.
Probably more hassle and time to change card then go into the menu and select your shooting mode.

On the 50D I have C1 set for single frame, 1 shot focus ISO 100, and C2 for 6fps, servo focus ISO 800, both with back button focus. I tried these settings to see if I would take to BBF and found that I did and that the "go to" settings worked well for me, keeping AV, TV etc as normal if needed. I just wondered if I could set up a 1D Mk3 in a similar way.
