im going to be getting a new camera soon so my canon 1100d will be for sale.where can i find out the shutter count ive tried eosinfo.exe but it just says camera not connected.are there any other sites i could possibly try.

this is what i use you have to pay a small fee but it will work forever for that model of camera i use it for my 7d but before i had the 7d i had the 1100d so can confirm it works

You also have to install the eos activex plugin aswell as the ie tab
 
ah right where do i get that from then.you might be able to tell im not to clever with this computer stuff;)

just tried again mate it comes up with could not load activex hosting plugin for napapi

urm i would walk you through it as when selling a body the first thing you will be asked is whats its shutter count and if i recall it is VERY low so hang on i will try to get some screenshots
 
ok here you go first you will come to this page you need to install the add on

then click the ie tab icon in the top right then you should see this bar along the top then just install the active x really easy

thanks mate but i dont have a clue what ie tab icon you can see on the right hand side but i cant see any and i cant get that download bar to show

i must be thik as **** :lol:

That's cool m8 did you get the shutter count? If I remember I paid for the shutter count for that model so you shouldn't of had to pay

For future reference of EOSCount users, IIRC you have to use a 32Bit browser for it and not the more usual 64Bit version that most people have. In Windows 7 in All Programs there's 2 Internet Explorers listed, 1 with 64Bit in brackets after it, and the other one is the 32Bit. I use British Gas home top up service and I have to use a 32Bit browser for that as well (which I found out by accident after about 3 months trying to top up).
