Yes
Until a few weeks ago I owned a canon 100mm macro that I’d bought overseas that had developed some fungus on the barrel. Decided to sell it on eBay and got a fair price. It was I think a 2013 copy. I don’t think I ever noticed any loud noises.

I then bought a new 2021 lens - and when taking it off the camera today I noticed it rattled quite badly when shaken gently.

Checking Google shows that it appears to be a known phenomenon - the question is does anyone else’s here do this? Or as noisily as this?

Is this normal for a recent build lens?

IS? The "floating" element(s) in stabilised lenses can rattle.

Yes it’s definitely a floating element - but wondered if it should be this noisy - I’m sure my old one wasn’t.

I have a few VR/OIS lenses and they all have a bit of a clunk rather than a rattle. Trick is not to shake them like a Pina Colada! (Your video looks and sounds about right for an IS/VR/OIS lens.)

I won't be shaking it like a Pina Colada every day :) Only today while I work out whether it's normal or not :p Not sure why I didn't hear it on the previous model I had (or the one before that as I had another one some time before) - but it may be a more recent internal design which makes them a bit noisier.

Is this one the L IS version and was the one you sold too or could it have been the older non is 100mm macro?

Stabiliser would make all the difference to the shake, rattle and roll.

Yes both the one I sold - and the one I bought were identical models. Just the older one had a fungus inside it - still gave great photos - but decided to change it for a new one. Both L 2.8 IS's - I just never noticed the rattle on the old one - but it does appear 'normal'.

Only asked because I had the L IS version and that definitely rattled a bit.
