Canon 1000 Compatable Flash

Hi Guys

I'm new to the photography game and would really appreciate some advise.
I have a Canon 1000D and would like a cheap flash that can be deflected to flash off the ceiling and easy to use and understand. Any Suggestions?

have you tried jessops?

On my 1000d , highly recommended from members of TP, not the best build quality but works great so a good choice if your on a budget .

For peace of mind my preference would be either the 467 version (without the troublesome lcd screen) or a Jessops 360AFD, where you can walk in off the street and buy it without having to send a warranty return back to HK

Flash In The Pan, i know what your saying but i've had mine for a few months now and used it a alot and so far it seem fine .

Check out the Canon 270EX first. It's a great little gun for under £100 (far more powerful than the specs suggest, because of the way they quote guide numbers) and it does high speed sync which I wouldn't want to be without.

It does basic ceiling bounce and couldn't be easier to use. Terrific little gun that fits in a shirt pocket.
