I just sold a canon 1.4x converter on ebay.. its old and shot at but works luverly.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&item=140288988807

Its not a mKII.. it worked on my canon 1dmkII and canon 300 (old 300)

guy who bought it says he is happy enough with the condition.. fits his body OK but it doesnt fit his canon 17-300 4-5.6

I have offered to take it back no problem and will sell again.. but I would like to know what the limitations are?
 
Pretty much only L glass over 100mm with the odd exception!

That list of lenses might work for the older film camera's but with digital's unless 1D series (upto f8), will only autofocus upto f5.6 on xxD, xD or xxxD canon camera's, so canon 400mm f5.6 will only auto on 1D series camera because loss of 1 f-stop makes lens 400mm f8 with a 1.4x TC and will not autofocus with a 2x TC.


Canon's teleconverter multiply the effective focal length of an attached lens by 1.4x or 2x. For example, a 200mm lens with Extender 1.4x has an effective focal length of 280mm: with the Extender 2x, this increases to 400mm. Extenders are only compatible with selected EF lenses, including the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, EF 70-200mm f/4L, EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM, EF 400mm f/4 DO IS USM and fixed length L-series lenses of 135mm or higher.

to be honest its his fault for not checking compatability, let him send it back at his own cost if he contests it tell him where to go.

I made the return offer before he got it.. now finding out it doesnt fit.. he does admit it's his fault and would like to send it back but understands if I pull out of my offer..

What the hell.. its christmas.. it should sell again easy enough .. Told him to send recorded... Have made a second chance offer to next one on list.. if they dont answer then will relist :)

Well the guy hasnt sent it back yet and is a bit slow on emails but says he is sending it..

I could get him to send direct to you.. he pays postage you pay me 65 :)

I would give you his contact details first so you can talk to him,.. make sure TC is what it is etc

Bleddy hell, you saw that quick, I edited it within about 1 minute. I had this cunning plan to use it with mine to give me a 2.8x converter, but i forgot it wouldn't fit, thick i am :bonk:
 
hehehe i didnt see it... its in the email.. auto subscribe to threads i post in so i get instant email with message..

No worries.. as you say.. confident it will sell.. i didnt list it in here cus its tatty.. but the guy that got it says happy on that score so i might...
