Yes
Having used mine on a previous 300 f4L and 70-200 F4L, I was wondering if it would work equally as well with any third party zoom lens. I am under the impression that quality wise, the L series are what they are best with. If they can be used with another brand of lens and someone has done this, maybe you would be willing to post up a shot or two.

Thanks

Canon Extenders do not work at all with most Canon zooms - only the 70-200L series and the 100-400L. They will not work at all with most third party zooms either. A zoom lens needs to be really high quality before you can get away with using an Extender with it. One zoom I know you can is the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8. There might be others but certainly not many others.

Yes I understand they work with those two but was not sure about any others, thanks. How about the primes Stewart? Are they just compatible with all L series? or is there the odd third party lens its good for?

I dont know every lens Canon produce, but I know they work with the 300mm F2.8 and 300mm F4

So is that to say that extenders work well with Primes?
Well I was more than happy with the results from a 300 F4L IS and the 1.4 TC. But now alas my 300 has gone so was just checking out other options when I make my next purchase.
