Can you remove the people in the background?

Hi,

I took this shot last weekend and I'd really like to get rid of the people in the background but my editing skills are a bit lacking in the cloning department. I've blurred the background a touch to make them less 'in-your-face' but i'd still like to get rid of them.

Sorry about the low res photo, I grabbed it off Facebook as that's all I have at the moment as i'm at work.

If it can be done well then I will go back to the original and remove them, instead of blurring the background.

Yeah that's an easy clone, I'm on my phone ATM but if nobody has done it for you when I'm at the computer in a whole I'll do it

Wow, that's pretty quick and effective.

What software and tools did you use?

I've got PSE 11 at home and have tried the content aware tool but that didn't seem very good for this, or at least not when I used it.

Here's a different take on it I have removed the cars as well a little bit more fiddly but not that much. Clone stamp tool used and a little bit of adjustment to contrast and sharpening.

There is a clone tool in elements. Not sure about a tutorial but I suspect youtube will be able to help you.

I have given it a go now and I'm pretty happy with my result. I'll post it up when I get a chance.

I used the clone tool, hold alt, select the area you want to use then click over the area you want to replace. The trick is to keep changing the location of the cloned area so you don't get a repetitive pattern.

I cloned the edge of trees to get the edge on the trees behind the people in this area. It's not perfect but pretty good.

Here you go iwols. This is my attempt to remove the people. I don't think it's too bad for someone who doesn't normally do much cloning.
