Can you point me to some general advice or guides?

Hi,

I have a YN-468 and am frankly rubbish with it, sometimes it flashes so bright not only do I get a whiteout but my daughter scuttles off for safety! Other times it just doesn't seem to bother much at all.

As I've heard its a pretty good budget flash I think I must be doing something wrong and could do with finding a couple of (preferably free) guides or video tutorials to help me see what it is I'm doing wrong.

Worth noting though that despite the kit I have I'm not made of cash so as I'm really doing this for family/friend snaps I don;t need a full studio... well unless I could get one fro £50

Anyway all advice welcomed.

hehe, just looking down the list there are a lot of "doesn't work" threads - a little worrying.
