Illuminating Hadrian’s Wall – A line of light from Coast to Coast

This once in a lifetime event will illuminate Hadrian’s Wall from end to end to form an amazing line of light from coast to coast.
 
that is awesome, just a shame i'm nowhere near...
 
I saw it on the news last night- shame it's a bit too far for me also.I bet it will be fantastic.I'm sure there will be some togs going, should be great pictures.
 
I went there yesterday & it was fantastic. The weather was perfect for the illuminations. We walked from Housteads fort area to Steel Rigg where all of the press were set up, the view was perfect for about 4 - 5 miles of the wall. We set up on the bank side in amongst a long line of other photographers @ about 5 o'clock & waited for the sunset, the gas torch lights came on about 6.10 & spread across the wall heading west.

My wife & neice were interviewed by the BBC, which made their day:clap:
The lights burned for an hour or so as it got steadily darker & my camera batteries got steadily flatter taking 30 second exposures LOL.

All in all a wonderfull one off experience, will post some pics as soon as I process the RAW images:thumbs:
