Can you get a refund on software?

Bought iLife11 from the Apple store on Friday, but iphoto is total garbage!! Will revert to iphoto09, but is there any chance they will take it back and refund?

Guess the answer is no due to the obvious - copying the cd?

Simon, Phototshop Elements 9 now has full functionality (Ie organiser as well as editor) on Mac platform so might be a much more useful alternative (works in conj. with iphoto as well. John

I use Lightroom for editing and stuff like that which I like, but like the iphoto side for integrating with iweb, imovie, email and also general viewing.

If you want to take it back just because you have changed your mind then no refund.

If on the other hand the DVD/CD were badly scratched/damaged when you opened it then that would be a different matter

They aren't that daft!

You will just get replacement Media, and have to keep the same packaging so that you can't get hold of another serial number.

I cannot help with information about the refund, but watching the presentation about the new iPhoto made it seem like a fairly nice app. What is it about it that makes you unhappy?

I dont use Garage Band so cant comment, IWeb is the same as 09. Imovie does look better but iphoto is pants!

When you email pics from iphoto, you HAVE to use one of the templates, some of which look sqaure so chop pics up. You cannot send as a standard pic. If you try to do that through email-photo browser, you can send small (50k), medium (120k) large (225k) or full size (8mb typically). In the old iphoto you could select large which would be around 1mb.

The look of it is not as nice, although thats a small point. The other thing is that the viewing in full screen was easier and better last time. Check out the Apple support forums on the apple site for ilife and you will see lots of unhappy people.
