Can you do a panoramic without

a special head?

I want to do a shot of the 3 peaks fairly zoomed in, and it'll probably need to be panoramic. Can i do it?
I have a tripod.

I hand hold them all the time, no tripod. All I make sure is that I don't change focus, and I lock the Exposure between shots.

You only need a normal tripod (or a very steady hand!)

Would that by any chance be Arnside? it looks familiar from when I used to regularly drive trains over the viaduct.

I was pretty certain that it was Arnside, but I've only ever seen it from the train so there was a little bit of doubt.
