Hi guys,

I use yn622c triggers with speedlights and they work flawlessly. I use brollies and was about to purchase a soft box but thought I might be better investing in a single studio light for now. I am wondering though if I can trigger a studio light with my existing triggers and if so is it just as easy.

Regards

Scott

Thanks that's good to know. Is there anything else I need then? Do I need anything to connect them or is the wireless technology built into the studio light?

One unit is plugged into the sync socket of the flash, the other sits in the camera hotshoe.
All that's you'll need as an extra (if you haven't already got it) is the short sync cable that connects the unit to the flash head.
Some flash heads do have a built in radio receiver, but I don't know of any that are compatible with your triggers, and anyway possibly not the best idea anyway, because if the receiver fails it can become expensive.

As above,
You'll just need a sync cable for the receiver.

I was thinking of them without the wee cable. I know what you mean now. Thanks guys. I could always use the actual cable too I suppose that connects to the camera as it's only a small space I'm in.

The last time I connected a light to a camera with a cable, the repair bill was more than a set of triggers.

Frankly, it's less than a fiver for a short cable to hang your trigger off your flash. Allowing you total freedom of movement, it's a no-brainer.

Okay. I'll nab one of these and a smartflash. I wonder if I should purchase something with a bit more power though as this will probably be the first of a few lights but the only one for a few months. I'll read up on the others that Lencarta sell.

You shouldn't need anything more powerful than a Smartflash, it'll be particularly powerful used with speedlights, in fact anything better might struggle to get low enough.
