Called the BBC?

If I wanted to read or comment on the bbc site, I would go and read it. The odd link from the bbc is ok, but when almost every other topic is a link to the bbc. Can't ST4 just comment on the BBC site?

If you don`t like it just change channels :D

Did Ms W forget to change her clocks last night? :mutley:

Nope, the rest of the household has cold with nasty cough and I have finally succumbed to it, so managed a few hours sleep before being woken up by need to be generally snotty and horrible. Tried going back to sleep but gave up and got up. I predict an afternoon nap later ;)

I think you're being a bit harsh on @ST4 looking at the first page on oof, he only has 4 threads, all of which incidentally have lot's of replies, so people are not all of the same opinion as you.

I'm sure Dale posted this with his tongue tickling his cheek. I've looked in this section a few times over the last couple of weeks and thought i'd found a new BBC website feature.

:)

People comment on the threads I post. I like the BBC for news. The articles are short and concise. I prefer that over the musings of the times, telegraph or daily mail.

If you don't comment on them I doubt I'd post them.

I'm no mind reader, so maybe a smiley would have made it more apparent?

Just read the name of the thread starter. Then skip on. Easy!
Absolutely, if you are not interested in either the subject or poster,
then just move along, rather than troll the thread :)

You could easily have a News subsection where only news articles are posted and commented on. Have seen it in other forums.

or just enforce the no politics rule ... that would negate all the "vote UKIP for 30 glorious years of dictatorship" b*****ks , the swear filter could also be set to replace the word 'dibble' with "pugh pugh barley magrew, cuthbert and grub"

or just enforce the no politics rule ...
The no politics / religion rule was relaxed as we assume that we were dealing with adults that could have a
sensible discussion.

You just posted a politcal comment there. Be careful what you wish for, you just might not like it.

no i didnt i just posted a joke ... vote fascist for another 30 glorious years of dictatorship is from red dwarf (the one with the despair squid)

What about the UKIP comment. C'mon now....

sigh , i light heartedly compared your continual position that voting ukip would solve every problem with the red dwarf quote... dear god this is hard work

personally i don't care whetheryou vote ukip or BCP or anywherein between - my point was that if the no politcs rule was properly enforced it wouldn't be practical for thread after thread to go down the same well trodden path of vote ukip/leave the eu/deport all the imigrants...

It would be very dull if it were enforced. IMHO. I think you deep down feel this, otherwise the threads I start would be notable without your presence.

- my point was that if the no politcs rule was properly enforced .
The rules were updated on the switch over to Xen,
The rule you cite no longer exists.

sigh the reason I (and various others) wind up arguing with you're political rants so much is because as a reasonable person i can't leave "if they're black send em back" and other such right wing garbage unchallenged ... this doesnt mean that i wouldn't prefer not to see it in the first place

However, in addition to what Chris has said, the spirit of TP does still exist and if we feel a conversation is getting too hard going, politically, religiously,or any other 'ly', we will moderate accordingLY :)

Please enlighten me to where I said that. Or otherwise I might have to instruct legal council against you.

your football, your garden , your call

but personally I'd have said that that the constant incitement that leaving the EU and/or voting ukip is the cure for pretty much everything, comes under "don't bore everyone with drivel"

Oh do grow up , Given that you implied I was a drug addict in a thread recently you might not want to open that particular can of worms, ( also you'll notice that in my post above I don't actually say that you uttered those exact words, i say the reason I argue with your political position is because I can't let that kind of attitude go unchalleged, you'd find it pretty difficult to demonstrate that you don't display that kind of attitude given a number of posts such as where you expressed the view that we should be able to shoot ileghal imigrants (in the fruitpickers thread))

Anyway bottom line as i said before I don't care whether you vote ukip or british communist party , I don't care whether you read the daily mail or the socialist worker , but being constantly beaten over the head with your political position in thread afte thread doesnt get pretty tedious , especially when it has jack s*** to do with the orignal topic

that aside in the romanian fruit pickers thread you made your views on imigration pretty clear ... okay so it wasnt about blacks per se (ITBSEB again being short hand for the general position rather than a literal statement) but as i recall you expressed the view that we should be able to shoot any illegal imigrants dead.

Both of you, give it a bloody rest, ignore each other, do something different but ferchrissakes give US all a rest. That IS a mod order btw.

Not me, it was a decision taken by admin in the hope that be giving people latitude, that they would still play nice.
And as Yvonne quite rightly pointed out the "spirit of the rules" still exists.
As does the general conduct section.

As we keep saying, if you see a post or a poster that you don't like or have strong opposing views with, we would expect
members to be adult enough not to read those threads, nor continue to bait the poster, which in itself is self defeatist,
as it just serves to perpetrate the threads.

The no politics / religion rule was relaxed as we assume that we were dealing with adults that could have a
sensible discussion.
