Can it be recovered or faked?

faked badly, but not recovered IMO.

Probably not. Though you might be able to super impose another one in there as the tree line in the background is quite crisp.

Maybe theres something left in the raw file..?

*makes assumptions*

I can't even open the NEF. file... There is detail left in the sky 4 EV steps down.

Nope... i tried recovering in Lightroom.

well, its a complete sham, fake, manufacture job then....

still, if you put it in as you remember it, who's to know..

wait...what, you can't recover because you cant open, or theres nothing left in the raw ?

I cant open the RAW... or NEF since thats what its named as. I only just tried shooting raw today, and the camera took JPEGS as well, which i thought were raw.

Lightroom opens NEF.
Anyway, if there's anything to recover, thats where it'll be.
Looking at the jpg, there won't be a lot.

I too have had a quick play, but just noticed you dont have your "user can edit and re-post my shots" button ticked Magnum, so better not.

Here's the result from a "skyfix" script for Paint Shop Pro. You'd need to dive in and hand edit around some of the clumps of trees. The version by alxxx is far more acceptable.
