Can someone please explain RAID to me?

It's still a good idea to use Macrium Reflect to make an image of C:drive (and store it on one of the external drives) - it'll get you out of trouble if your SSD fails and will avoid having to reinstall your OS and programmes on a replacement SSD.

The free version is here: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx.
Help files here if you want to read up on it: http://www.macrium.com/help/v5/reflect_v5.htm.

That looks a good idea. I'll have a look at that once the boys have done thier stuff against Arsenal! (Oh dear, they're a goal down already!)

A brilliant piece of software - I've used it countless times (both as images & clones) and it works flawlessly. The free version will do the vital tasks (imaging & cloning a drive) but the standard version (not free) will do file or folder backups and incremental/differential backups as well.

Once you've got Windows 7 set up and all your programmes installed, make an image of your SSD and save it to an external drive. You can then restore C: drive in minutes if you mess something up, or the drive fails completely. It' beats the so-called 'System Restore' that's built into Windows 7 by a mile.
