Can music influence your photography?

Hey Guys,

Quick question. Do you have any songs which make you want to go out on and get a specific type of photo? Ie, you hear a song or album, and you instantly need to go out and get a set of images that matches it?

I've just done a college course and was stuck for a theme so while listerning to The Smiths, A Dreaded Sunny Day a theme and project came about

It was said Morrissy was singing about Southern Cemetery, so off I went and the whole project was called "I'll Meet You By The Cemetery Gates" and included Crewe and Weaste.
A whole year taking photos in Victorian Cemeteries, it was great

Music inspires me daily Gary, it makes me happy, glad, fired up, thoughtful - it colours my day.

Has it inspired a photograph? Not sure other than its always there in my head.

I associate music with images so it should I guess - my band is Radiohead - cue mono shots of depressing subjects :D

I shall ponder this one! Good question!

I wonder. Take camera, put ipod on, go for walk with Radiohead, post results. I'm gonna need to try it with Pink Floyd.

Music helps me relax more than anything, Like Mika - Love Today helps me not be some uptight and shy when taking photos outdoors, Must look like a right dork dancing to it though :lol: Oh well, nothing seems to stop me when i have my camera in my hand :)

When i can get out with my camera that is :D

when i'm off shooting for a day i always walk about with music from my ipod. as well as the music helping me focus it also cuts me off somehow so it's almost like i'm invisible. in my eyes anyway. it's also very helpful for ignoring security folk and their "you're not allowed to take picture here"....

I'd come back with happy images, well good images. I love Radiohead. They don't depress me they move me. So they make me feel better when I'm depressed, way more so than chocolate. They can put me in a better mood because I'm listening to some of the finest music of modern times. To that end I'm inspired, uplifted and more at ease with my photography.
