Hi,

Just some opinions needed please.

Can the Canon 10d or 20d cut it against the new budget SLR's (nikon d60, a200, eos 1000d etc etc)

With the 10d only being 6mp and the 20d only 8mp am i right in thinking the 10d or 20d wouldnt be a better choice against the above budget slr's?

Matt

Personally yes i'd say they do cut it. Worst thing i ever done was sell my 10D. I still think i got some of my best shots from that camera.

Not much help but that's my expeirence of that one camera as it was back up to my now sold 1dmk2n. :'(

Megapixels certainly aren't everything. If you like I'll demonstrate mathematically that you can print as large as you like with only 6 megapixels.

The 20D is still a good camera with better build quality and better ergonomics than those newer cheaper models you mentioned. The autofocus and the overall image quality are probably still quite decent by comparison too.

Hi,

Ive actually been offered a 30d with 18-55mm IS lens for £300 , is that a good deal?

As the 30d is only the next model down from a 40d!

i miss my 10D..:'(

Absolutely they can cut it. They are always my recommendations as a starter DSLR. Much cheaper now, but very capable and well specified.

Hi Dougdarter,

Ive just read a few reviews of the 30d and to be honest , i think the picture quality is alot better than the Sony A200 in currently using. The pics just looked so professional (where the sonys are very good but not as good as the canon)

I might even sell up and buy one! :woot:
