A close friend has offered to lend me a Sigma AF APO 70/200 f2.8 old I know but he use it often with good results, although noisy compared with my Nixons, what I would like to know is can this lens be used on a digi camera or is it a no no.

Nikon mount D300 body my freind uses the lens on a old Nikon 801s film body

You might find that not all functions are available, but it will work.

All Nikon lens' will fit (so that goes for all Nikon mount in this case) even old manual focus lens', but you might not get all the functions.

Very pleased with loaned 70 - 200 except a little fungus now my friend has offered to sell it to me [ really good price ] can someone tell mewhere to have it serviced and approx price please. :cool:

Not all service centres will accept lenses with fungus.

You could try Miles Whitehead (Google is you're friend, don't make me Google it for you ;)), he gave me a quote a couple of years ago for cleaning a lens with a spot of fungus, I can't remember the price though and you need to contact the person who'll be doing the job for the cost - decided to send it back in the end and found a cleaner example for the same price as the first.
