Can I use this moon unit-like with the Lencarta Safari Classic Ringflash?

Well, their NFL-500 portable flash kits look like they use a head very similar to the one on the Safari Li-On (though they call it a Freelander :) - what is it with Bulgarians and Land Rovers?)

If you look at the Discovery Ringflash (http://translate.google.com/transla...phos.com/product.php?c=5&sc=47&id=488&act=url) then it has the measurements. I suspect you'd want to compare those with the ones on the ring flash sold by Lencarta.

Circular flash tubes are relatively hard to make so I'd suspect there are a surprisingly small number of variants as far as physical size goes.
 
Both of the Lencarta ringflash heads - Safari Classic and Safari Li-on, and come to that the Elincrom Eco ringflash head, are all made by Jinbei and the heads are identical to the Jinbei originals, the differences are with the units that they plug into.

So, if that 'moon' unit does fit the Jinbei ringflash head then it will also fit Lencarta or Elinchrom.
 
Thanks for the information folks. Just ordered a Safari ring flash last night, then may well take a punt on this later.
