Yes
Well after much deliberation and fretting and looking at and getting distracted by leicas I went back to my original idea of a tlr.
My rolleiflex 2.8f arrived safe and sound in the post today from Rob at the vintage and classic camera company.
I'm really really pleased! It was described as 97% and unlike the classic cameras gradings it is!!!
He's even fitted a bright screen upgrade for me at no extra cost!

Can't wait to get going with it!!

Very jealous. That's on my list of cameras I'd love to own.

Thats a bit spesh. Welcome to an exclusive club of handsome, charming, intelligent Rolleiflex owners. :D

Very jealous here too. I'm only a member of the Rolleicord club (CIU affiliated), rather than a member of the Rolleiflex (complete with Chesterfield armchairs and vintage brandy in crystal glasses), but given how much I love the 'cord I imagine you're going to be a very happy man Andrew!

Out of curiosity, how much does an example like that go for? Sod the photos, just look at it! [emoji7]

Nice one Andrew

Cheers gentlemen!!
Although I appreciate I'm only a new member can I ptopose the swapping of brandy to single malt whiskey whilst sitting in the chesterfields??

Erm... this one was £1199 from the vintage classic camera company. Rob graded it as 97% or mint minus which I would agree with. It's just had a full service and rob installed a maxwell bright screen for me as a free upgrade! Top bloke!!

I think I have heard of these Rollei cameras

I think you'd better book yourself a place at the next available F&C weekend meet... last one there seemed to be at least as much attention to whisky as to photography, and I'm fairly sure there were more types of single malts than there were cameras!

I didn't realise they were so pricy!? Lovely looking camera though tbf.

Some models are cheaper some like the wide are more expensive again alot depends on conditiin. I'm a bit of an ocd fussy git! which ultimately costs me more though!

Me too! I don't think I could make do with anything other than good condition sadly.

Not with the single malt consumption I've just been hearing about ha!

The price will vary greatly depending on the model, its age, its condition, and, in many cases, collectability. If you go for a model with a tessar or xenon taking lens, rather than a planar or xenotar, for instance, you could pay between £100 or £200. If you go for a Rolleiflex with a distagon taking lens, you might pay upwards of a few thousand, especially if it's in good condition. Unfortunately, the prices of some of these models are greatly inflated because of collectors (the Rolleiflex T and Rolleiflex Wide, in particular, come to mind).

I've had a few Rolleiflexes and I currently have a 2.8E model with a planar taking lens. To say that these cameras are fantastic to use would be an understatement. The Automat models (with Tessar or Xenar taking lenses) are probably the best value for your money though.
