Well it was said very tongue in cheek, hence the smiley. But being brutally honest, there's so many bad things either happening or due to happen that it will be one voice in millions. I can relate and sympathise though.

Life goes on...

Southerns Solicitors, i guess it was bound to happen sometime, i was upset today but now have to get logical about things.

Indeed you do. Get signed on for a start. Adds to your NI contributions even if you're not allowed JSA yet.

I would suggest finding yourself a good solicitor and sueing your ex employer for something or other, but then they are solicitors themselves, so maybe not a good idea. There again, if they're laying everyone off they won't have anyone left too defend themselves with... :D

 they have let off legal execs and secretaries, if i could find a reason i would :D

it's easy to say but you have to look on the positives. I actually argued to be made redundant about 10 years ago as I wasn't totally happy with the way my employer wanted me to do things.

The day after they agreed I set up on my own with another ex colleague. 10 years on we've a nice profitable small business, employ 6 people and I've got a lot more security that I ever did as an employee. I know that's not for everybody but I'm now totally unemployable :D

What you've got in front of you is an opportunity to change the way you live your life and make it the way you want it to be. :)

Congratulations i'm pleased it turned out good for you, i'm sure something will turn up for me, i've even thought about going back to college to get some more qualifications (if finances agree :D). and Thank You.

Exactly!...It could be a good thing, it certainly was for me, so look on the bright side, get your ass in gear and sort yourself out........

Meant in the best way,I hope it reads as such........:)

So now that you're an ex employee is there anything scandalous you can tell us? Juicy office gossip, inter office affairs that might be worth getting a photo of and selling to the tabloids? :D

I could but i can't afford to get sued now :lol:

Which one is she then legal exec or sec. The criminal department is certainly busy though

She's something between a legal exec and a solicitor, not sure what. She handles personal injury claims. I don't see eye to eye with her on her job as I think a lot of these personal injury claims have pushed up insurance premiums way beyond what is reasonable or necessary.

Anyone else remember that outfit with the slogan "where there's blame there's a claim"? Makes me shudder thinking about it even now...

THis may sound totally bonkers but what if that is a sign to persue something you have been thinking about but not the courage

I agree the amount for personal injury claims have shot up so much, even for the simpliest thing, not surprising the economy is the way it is

Its not bonkers, i've been thinking for a long while that i might go and get further education, but like you said not had the courage, i was thinking of Law but to be honest i'm not sure what i want to do

Thank you for the encouragement though :)

I don't know how to multiquote neither, so sorry for the seperate ones :bonk:

It sure is. Seems to be about 5k minimum these days. Hope you get at least that in redundancy. Else trip up while you're there collecting your paycheck and then sue the gits. :D
