Yes
I've seen this video on YouTube and the guy does these effects all in ACR of Photoshop. The ACR that comes with Elements 11 doesn't have all these features so I was wondering if I could do this in Elements once I've looked at the WB and Highlights/shadows etc in ACR? In particular the Adjustment Brush bit that he uses from 2:35 onwards (I know how to do the gradients & vignetting that he does later).

Although I'm not entirely sure I like the effects he puts on, I would like to try this on some of my shots to see if I can enhance the colours a little.

id say if hes doin grads in acr then no you can only do that in the full acr with photoshop cs

There might be some confusion, I know I can't do these in the ACR that comes with Elements but is it possible to do the effect he gets from the Adjustments Brush in Elements itself once i've taken the image into elements and out of ACR?

You don't say if you have Elements 11 or not, but if not you can always download a trial version from the Adobe site

You could certainly get the same end results with a series of adjustment layers and masks, but it would not be as simple as shown in the video. When he adjusts several properties with one 'brush', you'd need to create separate adjustment layers for each property etc.

You could try the trial of Lightroom as an alternative - it has the same tools available as the ACR in the video with the added advantage that it's all none-destructive - so you can go back days, weeks later and tweak further if needed.

I do have Elements 11 but I'm not fully up to speed on it yet.

Thanks, thanks what I thought. I will try some different Adjustment Layers. I'm not sure I want to make all the adjustments he makes anyway.

No I'm pretty sure you can't do this in elements camera raw, I don't use elements but from memory it hasn't got the hue saturation/greyscale tab thats used in the video.
As David says though you could get pretty much the same effect using the other tools in elements.

You can create the same effect in Elements, but it takes a lot more steps.

Or you can do the same thing if you purchase Nik (Google) Color Efex 2...

Would you not be better off trying to do it in something like Rawtherapee, rather than relying on a cut down Adobe product?

Its been a long time since I used Rawtherapee but it did not have any selection tools when I used it.
You can make global adjustments but cannot alter just the sky, for example.
